We have a process to manage the whole lifecycle from determining your current state through to creating your green IT policy and implementing the changes necessary to achieve it.
We will track both cost and environmental savings along the way.
The first step to beginning a sustainable green IT program is to determine where you are and your current footprint. Only by understanding your present patterns of energy usage and waste creation can you set meaningful goals for improvement.
We will use a comprehensive matrix to examine your current state. This will be presented as a Green IT dashboard and report showing areas where the company is doing well and not so well against best practice.
The Green IT impact report examines in detail each area and compares your score with a target benchmark. It also highlights “hot spots” where the organisation scores low in an important area.
We look at the likely cost and potential savings both financially and environmentally of any Green IT initiatives. We highlight any breaches in current legislation.
We take the Green IT report as input to a workshop where we explore the options and best practices that are best suited to your company.
We take output from the workshop and principles agreed to produce a Green IT policy document. This document sets out the intentions of the IT organisation and identifies a target timescale to implement it. The Policy document identifies the financial and environmental measures of success that will be used to track progress.
We take the Green IT policy document and work with you to produce a high level master plan. This sets out the timetable for implementation. For each Green initiative in the plan we will work with you to produce a business case detailing the financial and environmental savings and any investment necessary together with a detailed plan.
We work with you to take the approved business plans and business cases through to implementation. For each element we track costs and savings to ensure the desired environmental and financial impact is achieved.
