Stakeholders - customers, staff and shareholders expect green behaviour

People are making commitments to improve the environment; they will expect companies and business to do the same.
According to a recent survey done for DEFRA, attitudes are changing:

84% of people agree that we are capable of finding ways to overcome the World's environmental problems

Only 21% of people said the environment is a low priority compared with other things in their life

The environment came 4th after crime, health & education in a list of government priorities

Over 70% of people are aware of the impact we are having on the climate and are adjusting their lifestyles
-
Over 65% of people would buy energy efficient appliances even if they cost more
-
67% of households have introduced some energy saving improvements
-
81% of people agreed “people have a duty to recycle”

Over 50% of people “try not to buy products from a company whose ethics they disagree with”
-
Over 50% of public and private sector procurement departments are incorporating Environmentally Preferred Purchasing (EPP) requirements into IT contracts
